Now that it’s emerged from early access, Baldur’s Gate 3 has already surpassed a lot of expectations, having attracted a huge amount of players keen to embark on the journey to its highest levels.
Despite some now-resolved issues with its latest hotfix and a bit of unhappiness over the endings on offer for one of its characters, the general verdict on the game has been extremely positive.
While some players have already begun trying out bizarre speedruns and interesting challenges in a bid to add some extra spice to their adventures, mods can also offer an easy means to do so. In fact, one newly released work looks like it might be worth checking out if you’re playing BG3 while waiting for your copy of Starfield to land.
Are you in the market for a cosmically-themed Baldur’s Gate 3 dice skin?
The mod in question is called ‘Galaxy Dice Set’, and is the work of modder JohnZyxx. Using the framework provided by Koriik’s ‘Dice Set Expansion’, they’ve added a dice set that boasts some celestial sparkle to the game.
Given that most of the game’s default dice options - and even the range of extra options included in Koriik’s mod - offer fairly muted or static colours (with a couple of exceptions like the Dragonflame Red die), JohnZyxx’s set should hopefully inject some extra life into your rolls.
Unfortunately for those looking to build up a collection of swanky roleplaying implements, the Galaxy set is currently incompatible with some of the other colourful dice mods available on the Nexus, such as dimetequiero’s ‘Dice Rainbow Dark’.
That said, JohnZyxx has suggested they plan to try and rectify this via a future update.
Meanwhile, if you’re someone who hates having to waste time watching your dice roll around before inevitably spitting out a number lower than the one you need to pass the check you were hoping to use to talk your way out of a tough fight, pavelk’s ‘Faster Dice Menu’ might be worth grabbing.
By considerably trimming down the roll animation, it can save you around four seconds of your life per attempt, which you could technically be using to plan out your first Starfield playthrough instead.
Regardless of whether you’re now spending at least two minutes taking in the interstellar beauty of your dice every time it pops up, make sure to follow us for plenty of guides to its builds, mechanics, and locations.
