From turning Concord into a revitalised pre-war style town to giving you the chance to ride around on a Deathclaw, Fallout 4 mods can add a lot to the experience on offer in The Commonwealth.

While some focus on giving you the tools to add your own personal twists to the activities, visuals, and gear of your post-apocalyptic playthroughs, others provide the means for creatively talented vault dwellers to construct fresh adventures or locations for their fellow Fallout fans to enjoy.

If you’re someone who usually sides with the Brotherhood of Steel, a new mod, which makes the first chance you get to taste some action among their ranks after joining up something worth remembering, might be worth taking a look at.

Ever wished the opening missions of Fallout 4’s Brotherhood of Steel questline offered a bit more bang for your buck?

The mod in question is called ‘Show No Mercy - Fort Strong Expansion’ and is the latest work of modder haplessAccreditation. Some of their previous projects have seen them contribute to the massive Glowing sea enhancement mod ‘South of the Sea - Atoms Storm’ and add vertibird helipads to various locations across The Commonwealth.

This time, they’ve decided to build upon the visual changes DocOnHoliday’s ‘Fallout 4 Revisited - Fort Stronger’ makes to the military base of Fort Strong by enhancing the Brotherhood of Steel quest ‘Show No Mercy’, which sees you assault the facility and wipe out the super mutants occupying it.

In order to ensure this important mission lives up the the comments made about it by NPCs once it’s been completed, the mod ensures that the battle features enough firepower on both sides to make it feel like your first proper firefight as part of a faction, as well as thoroughly entrenching the Super Mutant forces in their defensive positions.

Once the bullets, laser bolts, and plasma projectiles have stopped pinging about the place and you’ve secured it for the Brotherhood, haplessAccreditation has made sure they’ll get rid of all the mutant gore and establish a garrison there, which will contain an exterior settlement for you to use.

The leader of this occupying battalion, a “special Star Paladin”, can also be recruited as a companion, giving you the chance to offer Paladin Danse a few missions off once in a while.

While that’s it for now it looks like haplessAccreditation has a few more additions in mind for future updates, including a private room inside the armoury where you can recharge your batteries and tinker with your laser rifle.

Regardless of whether you’re now preparing to fly into the action aboard a vertibird stocked with paladins, make sure to follow us for more updates on interesting mods for Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. You can also check out our latest mods of the month.
