When theyâre not decorating their settlements, trying on quirky sunglasses or laughing at a joke told by a robotic clown, Fallout 4âs Sole Survivor can often be found tinkering with their prized power armour.
This isnât too surprising, after all, when youâre constantly blasting, zapping or bashing your way through mutated creatures, bloodthirsty raiders or imposing Brotherhood of Steel gunships in order to complete quests, having extra protection pays dividends.
If your vault dweller subscribes to this theory but is struggling to manage their massive assortment of fusion-powered armours, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.
Struggling to manage all of your heavily-upgraded and garishly-painted power armour suits in Fallout 4?
The mod in question is called âPower Armor Collections 76 styleâ and is the work of modder BigAndFlabby. Some of their previous works have enabled the Sole Survivor to summon vertibirds in DLC areas and capture the rust devils from Automatron.
This time, theyâve decided to try and reproduce the power armour collection system used by Fallout 76, allowing you to swap between and transport different suits more easily by storing their re-nameable chassis in your inventory via a âcollectâ command, as you can see in the showcase video below.
While a couple of established mods, most notably HcGxGrillâs âPower Armor Collection System - Allows you to store Power Armor in your inventoryâ attempt to allow you to do something similar, BigAndFlabbyâs work seemingly differentiates itself by letting you store a âvirtually unlimited numberâ of chassis at once and giving them an automatic recall function that can be averted by staying close and interacting with the suit in question.
This timer, which only applies to suits that you equip from your inventory rather than drop, with the latter of those options being what youâll need to do if you want the suit to be permanently placed, is ideal if youâre out adventuring and donât want to worry about accidentally leaving your gear behind or having to come back and return it to base if you discover another suit you want to claim.
Sadly for those with sticky fingers, you wonât be able to collect any suits that would count as stolen property, so donât even think about trying to beef up your collection by pilfering some spares from the Brotherhood of Steel.
